From our local historian Norman Jacobs:
One of my own family photos taken c.1950. Although just a family photo of my dad at the time, 70 years on it has great historical value as it shows:
i) Our prefab garden (just)
ii) The front entrance to Clapton Greyhound Stadium
iii) The Fairfield off licence on the corner of Glyn Road and Millfields Road, demolished c. 1959/60, to make way for the Nye Bevan Estate.
It also shows just how close we lived to the Greyhound Stadium. We certainly knew all about it on Thursday and Saturday evenings!
