Community Theatre Co – Local Residents’ Help Required

Last modified date

Daresaydays is a new local theatre company based in Lower Clapton/Homerton, and who are creating a piece in partnership with Sutton House, Hackney’s oldest residential building, the National Trust building in Homerton High Street. They make work inspired by communities, and collaborate with the artists living within them. They strive to make engaging, dynamic work that asks us to look at ourselves and our world with fresh eyes.

This piece will be devised with Hackney-based actors, using local tales of personalities from the past and interviews from people living in the area today and will ask how long before a place becomes a home? They have already started these interviews and there are some wonderful stories to work with. The show will take place from 19-21 Feb at Sutton House.

Show dates: Feb 19, 20 (7pm) and 21 (5pm)

INTERVIEWS They will be interviewing local people (both new arrivals and longtime Hackney residents) in the coming weeks, asking for their thoughts and memories of the area. What stories stand out? What time and place feels special to them?

If you’re a Hackney resident and interested in being interviewed, please do get in touch for a chat – contact details below. They’d love to hear from you and you may even get a cuppa!
