Clean Up Clapton Day

The annual Clean Up Clapton Day will be on Thursday 11th October 2012, centred around BSix College, Kenninghall Road, E5 8PB from 10.30am. As in previous years, there will be stalls outside the college, various cleaning initiatives, jetting of paving stones in the area, hoovering of leaves, distribution of free bags for re-use as part of the local shop smart campaign and enforcement measures relating to canine offences.

Community Service Volunteers will be present at a stall persuading volunteers to participate in a special cleaning project in a fortnight’s time, we are also asking local fast food shops to arrange recycling and make a special effort to keep the area tidy.

A poetry competition on the theme of “A pleasant environment to live in” is being held for local schoolchildren, the Speaker, Cllr Jessica Webb and her consort will attend from about 10.45am, view stalls, speak to participants and tour the College.
